About Dame Kelly Holmes

Dame Kelly Holmes, two-time Olympic gold medalist, is celebrated not only for her achievements but for her lasting impact as a global role model. She began her career in the British Army at 17, serving nearly a decade as an HGV driver and Physical Training Instructor, and was awarded an MBE in 1998.

Her 12-year athletics career culminated in the 2004 Athens Olympics, where she became the first British woman to win two gold medals in a single Games (800m and 1500m), earning a Damehood in 2005.

Beyond sport, she founded the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust (2008), empowering disadvantaged youth, and has received numerous honours for her philanthropy. She also served as Honorary Colonel (2018–2024) and continues to influence beyond athletics, earning multiple honorary degrees and an Honorary Fellowship in 2024.

A long-standing motivational speaker, presenter, and Mental Health First Aider, Dame Kelly remains a powerful voice for resilience, inclusion, and personal growth—a true champion of change and inspiration worldwide.
